  • 4 pieces of cocoyam
  • 2 handfuls of oha leaves 
  • Uziza leaves (African spinach)
  • Ogiri 
  • Tatashe (red bell peppers)
  • Rodo (scotch bonnet peppers)
  • 1 and ½ cup of palm oil
  • Inu eran (assorted meats)
  • Crayfish 
  • Stockfish
  • Smoked fish
  • Uziza seeds (black pepper seeds)
  • Terra Seasoning Cubes
  • Salt


  • Season and boil meat and stockfish and dry fish until tender
  • Boil the cocoyam without salt
  • Pour palm oil into the meat stock and allow it to boil until you can see the palm oil on top
  • Pound the cocoyam until it is light and creamy. You can also do this with an electric mixer
  • Put the cocoyam into the boiling stock in little bits
  • Put in the ground crayfish and the ogiri and uziza seeds
  • Tear the leaves apart gently and put into the stock
  • Allow it to simmer for a couple minutes on low heat

Bring down and serve with a swallow of your choice
